Union NewsInformation Desk >> Union News Evangelism Explosion in NCC The first quarter of 2011 extending into the month of April, could be characterized as a period of Evangelistic Explosion in the North Caribbean Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. This explosion was a result of a well orchestrated plan by the leadership of the church under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, to challenge every church in the Conference to begin the year, Sabbath January 1, with Revival. In addition, several church districts engaged in a Week of Revival Services and half night prayer meetings, in preparation for the launching of several major evangelistic crusades.
On February 20, one week after the start of the crusade in Anguilla, Evangelist Dr. Winston Richards and his crusade team brought the churches on St. Croix together in a massive effort to take the island by storm in the “Treasurer of Truth Crusade.” The Teaching Evangelist shared the gospel with clarity. His main text was, “Go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptizing them in the Name of the Father and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost” which followed the Theme song, “Glorious Message we bring.... Jesus is coming again.” Through hard work, much prayer and divine intervention, 44 precious souls were added to the church. After six weeks, the crusade climaxed with a grand renewal of marital vows at the Central Seventh-day Adventist Church on April 3, 2011. Next in line was the Mega Millennium Crusade in St. Thomas, with Evangelist, Dr. Vincent A. David and his team of workers. The big yellow and white canvas cathedral, strategically positioned at the Mandela Square, became the main attraction for seven weeks of dynamic, soul stirring, and Spirit-filled proclamation of the gospel. From the Opening night on Friday, February 25, to April 16, 2011 people came from all parts of the island to share in the experience. In addition, the messages were carried periodically on WGOD, and live streaming nightly on the worldwide web. In this campaign, God was pleased to all 108 souls to His church. In the same time, Evangelist Eugene Benjamin and his team created an impact on the island of Virgin Gorda, with the “Signs of the Times Prophecy Expo” Crusade. The crusade began on February 26, as members and friends gathered under the blue and white tent to hear the final warning message to the world, as found in Rev. 14:6-12. The Evangelist won the hearts of many with his friendly approach and interaction with the visitors. His giftedness in the use of technology played a major role in holding the attention of his audience, both under the tent and those who listened on the World Wide Web. When the crusade ended on March 26, 2011, some 22 souls were baptized, and added to the church. The Evangelistic Explosion continued on the island of St. Maarten with the “Hope for the Final Generation Expo” with Evangelist Henry Peters, from March 11- April 16, 2011. From the onset, it was a battle against the elements of nature, as heavy rain brought the tents down just before the meetings began, but on the opening night, hundreds came out in spite of the challenges. They sang with gusto, the theme song, “I say yes Lord Yes – To your will and to your way.” Those words became a reality in the lives of many, as in response to the messages to do God’s will, 147 decisions were made for the Lord Jesus Christ. Finally, on the island of Tortola, lay crusades were conducted in Districts #1 & #2 that resulted in 37 baptisms. At the end of this Evangelistic period, 473 souls were added to the North Caribbean Conference. To God be the Glory. Written by Earl Daniel, NCC

The first crusade launched, was the New Life Evangelistic Series on February 12, on the island of Anguilla, with Evangelist Mil Robinson. The large opening night’s crowd was an indication, that Pastor Virgil Sams and the crusade team had prepared the field for the grand event, and something grand was about to happen. God used the evangelist nightly, as she presented Bible Truth to her listening audience. Every night, they came back for more. From all reports, the messages were awesome and met the felt needs of the people. After six weeks of intense proclamation of the Word, 122 souls were baptized to the glory of God.
