Union NewsInformation Desk >> Union News Conference say goodbye to outstanding educatorRegna Pricilla Fleming was born on September 9, 1933 on the tranquil island of Anguilla, to Wilfred Gerald Fleming and Rose Ruan-Fleming. She was the first of seven children who had to care for her other siblings at age fifteen when her mother died in childbirth.
Regna attended Caribbean Union College in Maracas, Trinidad, and in 1957 passed seven subjects administered by Cambridge University Overseas School. In 1960, she graduated with an associate of Arts in Secretarial Science. Shortly after graduating, she worked as secretary to the business Manager at CUC. She later served as Dean of Women, with distinction and administration. She was a mother figure to the ladies of Alpha Delta Chi or Linda Austin Hall. It was at CUC that Regna met and later married Pastor Godfrey Alexander Beresford of Guyana, South America. Two children resulted from this union. Regna moved to Guyana with her husband, and after four years, she joined the Guyana Mission of Seventh-day Adventists where she served as a teacher. She also taught on the islands of Barbados, and Antigua, where she demonstrated excellence in service. Regna was listed in the 5th Edition 1998, Volume II of WHO‘S WHO AMONG AMERICAN TEACHERS. Sis. Beresford as she is affectionately known by most of us in the North Caribbean Conference was laid to rest on Sunday, March 12th, in celebration of a life lived for God, and now sleeps in Jesus awaiting the resurrection. |

Regna showed an aptitude for learning at an early age and was highly successful at the VII Standard Annual Examination in 1948, which included English, Writing and Arithmetic.
